What are your terms and conditions?


Bookings must be made online via the website.

Payment details will be sent by email within 48 hours after the time of booking.

Payments are expected within 48 hours of the payment details being sent to you, unless other arrangements have been made between the Theatre School and the person paying.

It is your responsibility to contact the Theatre School if you have not received payment details within 48 hours.

Payment is expected by the person who has booked, within 48 hours of payment notification, and unless you explicitly make contact with the Theatre School to cancel your booking you are still expected to pay the full amount. Booking cancellation/refund amounts are outlined below.

If you need to make a change to your booking (within the same academic year) please email david@davidstinsontheatreschool.com 
14 days or more before the date you wish to change – free of charge.
Less than 14 days before the date you wish to change- £10 admin fee per change.
If you need to cancel a booking please email david@davidstinsontheatreschool.com
14 days or more notice before the date you wish to cancel – full refund less a £10 administration charge.
Less than 14 days before the date you wish to cancel – with regret no refund.
First aid will be administered by a First Aider to children in our care, if required, and emergency services called if necessary.
Please ensure all medical conditions are noted on your registration forms.
Any medication should be prescribed by a doctor/nurse and must have clear instructions for administering it.
    It remains the responsibility of parents/carers to inform the Theatre School of any medical or needs.
    The Theatre School will not administer any over the counter medication.
Please note that for promotional material we sometimes take photographs of the children taking part in an activity. If you wish your child not to be photographed, please notify a member of staff.


Our Designated Safeguarding Officer is Adam Tate - the school manager. He is a qualified teacher and is a trained Safeguarding Officer.

All of our staff are DBS checked to an enhanced level and have had the relevant Safeguarding Training


Packed lunches, snacks and drinks should be brought everyday by children attending. We encourage healthy eating in our school.

A refillable water bottle is also recommended so that children can fill them up and remain hydrated throughout the day.


Parents/carers can drop off their child/ren from 8.00am

All children should be at the Theatre School by 9am, ready to commence their first activity

If parents/carers are running late for dropping off their child a text message should be sent to the School Manager to inform them so arrangements can be made for gates and doors (only send a text if it is safe to do so).

Parents/carers are not encouraged to stay; and our Safeguarding Policy does not allow for parents to be present in the classrooms or learning areas, unless they have had the relevant safeguarding checks through the Theatre School.

During the 1 hour drop off time (8.00am - 9.00am) and during the extended day (3.30pm - 6.00pm), the activities that we offer will vary to that of the core 9.00am- 3:30pm activities and could include indoor games, outdoor games, movie or arts & crafts. 


The day finishes at 3.30pm and parents/carers should pick their child up promptly.

David Stinson Holiday School offers an extended day option charged at £10 per day. This can be Pay As You Go.

Parents/carers should inform the school in the morning of any other adult that will be picking their child up.

Late pickups will be charged at £5 for every 15 minutes.

The last day of each holiday school week, there will be a performance at 3pm. Gates open at approximately 2.50pm for parents/carers to be seated.

There is not an extended day option for the last day of the Holiday School and all children must be collected by 3.30pm. 

Do you accept childcare vouchers?

Currently, we are unable to accept childcare vouchers or tax free childcare direct payment.

Do you offer a Free Trial for the holiday schools?

No. However, your child is more than welcome to attend a Free Trial on a Saturday so that they can see the venue and meet the staff. 

Do you offer sibling discount?

Unfortunately not. As our rates are already very reasonable, to ensure that we can cover all of our costs we cannot offer any sibling discount. 

Do you offer half days?

Unfortunately not. The children work towards performing a mini show at the end of the week, and therefore our programmes are set. It would make it very difficult for us to cater for part time children.

Do you offer daily childcare or do I have to sign up my child up for the whole week?

We do not offer a day rate as we provide a week long programme where the children learn a selection of songs, dance moves and drama pieces that they perform to the parents on the last day of the week. It would therefore make it very difficult for us to include children that only come for the odd day as we are preparing for our mini show. 

I want to sign up my child but there is one day that we can't do, is that ok?

At the discretion of the school manager, depending on circumstances, our school may allow a child to miss one day (ideally not the day of the performance). However, should we allow this, we would not be able to offer any sort of discount as we have to cover our costs when employing the correct number of staff for each week based on the amount of children we have signed up. 

What can I expect when I arrive?

When you arrive at the holiday school you will be directed by sign post to our the main hall at Invicta Primary School. Parents should enter at the top gate on Invicta Road and walk down the long path where you'll see the school hall. On arrival at reception you will be greeted by the school manager and displayed will be the planned activities for the day. Please note on display will also be the holiday school phone number which you should make a note of. You will then need to sign your child in on the register and then you’re free to go and we will see you again at either 15.30 or 18.00.

Is there parking?

Yes - there is usually plenty of parking spaces on the road. You are allowed up to two hours free parking. 

What time can I drop off from?

Earliest drop off is from 8:00. Please be aware you will not be able to drop off any earlier than this. You may however drop off any time afterwards up until 9.00. All classes commence at 9.00 and we expect all children to be present at this point. Please note that the top gate will be closed so please press the buzzer at the side of the gate and someone will let you in. 

Can I arrive late and pick up early?

All children must be present by 9.00am as we start our warm up which is very important for everyone to take part in. You may pick up early if you have informed a member of staff prior to pick up.

Is there an emergency number for the holiday school?

Please call 07955 288 303. Please note that sometimes in Blackheath, phone signal is not great. If you cannot get through, please email, text or WhatsApp us and we will call you back immediately. 

What will my child be doing?

When you arrive in the morning you will see a display board with the day’s activities on it, giving you an idea as to what the children will be doing. Each day is a combination and balance of drama, singing, dancing, games, arts and crafts and often outdoor activities such as treasure hunts etc.

Please be aware these boards are to give an idea of the programme for the day and can be subject to operational changes they are planned taking into account the ages of children attending and feedback from previous days.

Will my children stay together?

If you would like your children to be grouped together and not subject to our normal groupings usually based on age, please inform the manager when you drop off. 

Will my children be happy?

Our staff are particularly welcoming to children who have never been to one of our holiday schools before. They will be greeted in the morning and introduced to some of the other children, and closely monitored by staff to ensure they are happy and comfortable. All of our regular children are really good at making new children feel welcome - this is something that we always encourage and are proud of. In most cases, children usually cry when they have to leave - and that's the truth!

What if my child gets upset?

If your child becomes upset or ill for any reason throughout the day, the staff will try everything possible to make their time with us more enjoyable. If it is not possible for staff to console your child or they require any form of medical attention the school manager will contact you on the phone numbers you have provided. Please bear this in mind when registering, and remember to update us with new numbers if they should change.

Can I stay a little while with my child?

Due to safeguarding requirements we cannot have adults on site without the appropriate safeguarding checks and training. Therefore once you have dropped your child off you must leave. Also when you come to pick up you must report straight to reception desk. This is for the safety and welfare of all children. Please do not, unless you have specific permission or the time of the show, enter the teaching areas.

What do they need to wear?

Your child needs to be in comfortable but suitable clothing for active activities including dance, going outside, and doing games. If it is raining we may still try and give the children some time to play outside so it is helpful if they have suitable attire. Obviously, if it is raining, we will stay indoors. 

Do they need a change of clothes?

A change of clothes is not required but occasionally useful if your child has got particularly messy during arts and crafts or muddy/wet from outside. If your child occasionally has toileting difficulties it is also encouraged for them to have changes of clothing as otherwise they will have to be picked up early. Please notify staff on arrival if this is the case.

What about food and drink?

Your child will need a packed lunch consisting of a water bottle, 2 X snacks and lunch. NO FOOD IS PROVIDED. Please note we have no facilities to keep food cold. We have a snack break in the morning, a lunch break, and another snack break in the afternoon, so please provide food for your child. We encourage healthy eating in our school. 

Is there anything I need to do in regards to my child's allergies? 

If your child has any allergies please reconfirm these to the staff at the holiday school. They will have this information from your booking but may have more questions.

Can you accommodate for severe allergies? 

There is always a first aid trained member of staff on site who can administer EpiPens in an emergency however it is always worth briefing the school manager if there is anything unusual in your particular case. Please also draw attention to the allergies and location of the EpiPen on arrival. For other levels of reaction please notify staff on arrival and of how you wish us to act in the event of a reaction of any kind.
